Yip Sang and the First Chinese Canadians
The summer 2012 edition of BC Bookworld (Volume 26, No. 2 Page 11)
shows a full-page article about my book. One quote states:

"There are few better primers about Chinese Canadians in British Columbia than
Frances Hern's Yip Sang and the First Chinese Canadians (Heritage $9.95),
a slim but extensive volume that uses the spine of Yip Sang's biography
to flesh out the social circumstances of racism and perserverance."

Steampunk Shakespeare Anthology
I have a sonnet published in:
The Omnibus of Doctor Bill Shakes and the Magnificient Ionic Pentatetrameter
Whew, what a title.
I thought steampunk was a genre only for juvenile and young-adult readers until I saw the anthology's call for submissions.
It seems adults are into steampunk too.
For those of you unfamiliar with this term, think Victorian Era with the invention of steam engines.
The anthology is published by Doctor Fantastique Books.
Read Shakespeare's stories and sonnets with a Steampunk twist.

Article published in Oriental WeeklyMy first reading from
Yip Sang and the First Chinese Canadians
was held at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre
as part of their 2011 Chinatown Day celebrations.
Thanks to everyone who made the evening such a success.
This is the article that Paul K.P. Wong wrote for Oriental Weekly.
I hope he said good things about me because I can't read what it says.
